Frequently Asked Questions

Does PsychDeck store patient data?

No. PsychDeck operates on an ephemeral, zero-knowledge architecture. Patient responses are processed entirely in active memory to calculate scores and are instantly routed to the hosting clinician via encrypted WebSocket. All session data are permanently destroyed when the session ends.

Does PsychDeck require patient accounts or login?

No. Patients access assessments through a unique session link shared by the clinician during the appointment. No accounts, passwords, or personal information are collected.

Is PsychDeck HIPAA compliant?

PsychDeck does not receive, maintain, or transmit Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined under 45 CFR §160.103. Because no patient data is stored, logged, or persisted, the platform operates outside the scope of HIPAA's covered entity and business associate requirements. The administering clinician is responsible for documenting results in their own HIPAA-compliant EHR.

Who develops the clinical instruments hosted on PsychDeck?

PsychDeck is a digital interface for standardized clinical instruments published by their respective authors and organizations (e.g., WHO, Pfizer, VA/NCPTSD, Columbia University). PsychDeck does not develop, modify, or claim ownership of any hosted instrument.

Does PsychDeck provide diagnoses or treatment recommendations?

No. Scores are calculated strictly according to each instrument's published scoring rubric. PsychDeck does not apply proprietary algorithms, clinical decision logic, or diagnostic interpretations. All clinical judgment is the responsibility of the administering clinician.

How do I use PsychDeck in a Zoom meeting?

Once installed from the Zoom Marketplace, PsychDeck appears in your Zoom Apps sidebar during a meeting. Select an assessment, and a unique session link is generated for the patient to complete the instrument on their device. Scores are relayed to the clinician dashboard in real time.

Which browsers and devices are supported?

PsychDeck works in all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and is fully responsive on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. The Zoom integration runs within the Zoom desktop client's built-in browser.

What languages does PsychDeck support?

PsychDeck currently supports 15 languages, utilizing the officially validated translations provided by the original authors. Supported languages include English, Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, and Arabic.

Why is my assessment not working?

To begin, the clinician must select 'Start Live Session' and share the generated session link with the assessment taker. The assessment taker must have that live session link already opened in their browser BEFORE the clinician selects an assessment from the dashboard.

This is a digital interface for standardized clinical instruments. Scores are calculated strictly according to each instrument's published rubric. PsychDeck does not diagnose conditions or provide clinical advice.
